The next all in was between Jake Hopkins and Matt Clack. Jake played Ace, Three against Tom’s King, Three. Tom caught another King on the turn giving him a pair of Kings and winning the hand. The other cards that came out were Five, Four and two Nines.
Finishing seventh this week was Vadims when he faced Stephen Hinton in an all-in. Vadims was holding King, Eight and Stephen held Ace, King. Neither players hit on a board of Queen, Six, Four and two Nines. This meant that Stephen won the hand with a high card Ace.
The subsequent all in was between Sam Head and James Whitbread. James had Ace, Six and Sam pocket Queens, meaning he was ahead so far but James had a chance that were pinned on catching an Ace. The Flop came down Four, Queen and Five giving Sam trip Queens. The turn and the river showed a Ten and Six meaning Sam’s Trip Queens won the hand leaving James to finish sixth.
After Lots of aggressive play Mark Melaney finished fifth this week after Five big hands that moved alot of chips around the table. Mark’s final all-in was between him and Sam Kiernan who face him holding Ace, Eight versus Mark’s formidable Eight, Four. Though now it would seem luck was no longer on Mark’s side as the board came out showing Queen, Seven, Nine, Ace, Six giving Sam a pair of Aces.
Finishing fourth this week was Sam Kiernan who played Four, Ten verus Tom Clack’s Nine Jack. The Cards Came out Two, Nine, seven, Queen and Nine, giving Tom trip Nines winning the hand.
The following all in was between Sam Head and Tom Clack. Sam had Nine, Five versus Tom’s Queen, Two. Tom caught a Queen on the Flop giving him a pair. The other cards out were King, Eight and Two Jacks. This meant both players had a pair of Jacks but Clack had two pair Queens and Jacks winning him the hand. Sam finished third.
The Final showdown this week was between Tom Clack and Stephen Hinton. Tom called all in with King, Nine against Stephen’s Seven, Two which he says he played because “he had to”. The board showed Eight, Jack, Six and two Nines meaning neither players caught a pair and so the winner was decided by Toms high card King.

Plymouth Poker Society Final Table Report (12/2/12)
The first all in at the final table this week was a four way affair between Jake Hopkins, Matt Finley, Danny Craven and King Arthur (Sam Kiernan). Jake had Queen, Jack, Matt had Ace, Four, Danny had Queen, Nine and Sam had pocket Aces. The cards that came out were Eight, Six, Two, Ten and a Jack. These cards resulted in Danny’s Queen, Nine forming a straight including the cards Eight, Ten and Jack. Arthur’s Aces came second as the highest pair and Jake managed to hit his Jack forming a pair. Thus the result of this hand was Jake with the lowest stack finishing ninth and Matt finishing eighth having a large stack then Jake. Arthur stayed at the round table due to not being covered by Danny’s stack.
Now we get onto the point in the report where Drunkie (Ryan Howells) decided he would like to assist. The first focus of this part is the ante which according to will at the time “was an odd number” then Melaney ask’s Danny “two grand to call?” to which his response was “ALL IN!!!” which was promptly called by Chris. Danny was holding Ace, Jack against Christopher’s Ace, Queen. The board came out showing a Three, Eight, Four and two Sevens. Therefore Chris was victorious with his Ace and higher Kicker, with neither players actually hitting on the board except for the pair of Seven’s. Danny finished seventh
next up Will Jenkins admitted to the table that “they were nice cards, woulda played ‘em” which was obviously a “DECISIVE TURNING POINT” in Drunkie’s opinion. Then will goes onto accept his “flamboyant call of destiny” when receiving the Dealer chip and will appropriately ‘takes it down’
Getting back to the hands next out was Liam Benther when he played Josh Armitage. Liam had pockets Kings versus Liam’s Ace, Four. The cards came out Nine, Five, three and two Two’s giving josh the straight crushing Liam’s Kings living him to finish in sixth place.
After the break Josh plays and hand and tell the table that “he’d love to call three grand. In another hand Will bets and apparently King Arthur was “bricking it”.
But unfortunately in Wills next match up with Arthur he wasn’t able to make him “brick it” again because after Will’s confident raise of 7500 Arthur brought his chip army forward declaring all in, a challenge Will was not able to call despite holding King, Queen a smart decision in hindsight as Melaney shows us that Arthur would have caught an Ace leading to Will’s undoing.
Josh Quinn finished fifth this week when he challenged Arthur to open table combat through means of an all-in. Josh was armed with Eight, Nine and Arthur was equipped with Ace, Ten. On the Battleground there was a Seven, Two, Ten, Nine and a Five. This meant Josh had a pair of Nines but Arthur had Tens and due to this overwhelming strength of numbers Josh’s stack was smashed and defeated.
At 9:29 pm Josh Armitage left for a piss.
At 9:31pm he returned. According to Drunkie once he got his ‘pissy hands’ on the button he had to fold.
The next all in was between Chris and Arthur. Chris had Ace, Nine versus Arthur’s Queen, Nine. On a board of Two, Ten, Six and two Kings neither played hit so Chris’s Ace won the Victory and defeated Kind Arthur’s armies.
At this point in the report Will’s name changes to ‘Old’. Subsequently Old goes all in against Chris fresh back on the field from routing Arthur. Chris came in with Six, Three versus Old’s Seven, Two. Old managed to catch a Seven on the flop giving him a pair and Chris also made a lower pair, Sixes. Therefore Old won this hand with his Sevens causing Chris to finish third. The other cards out were Ace, Queen and Ten.
The final heads up this week was between Josh A, and Old. The final hand saw old going all in with Nine, Three and Josh playing Queen, Ten. Old caught a Three but Josh caught both a Queen and a Ten giving him two pair and winning him this weeks tournament. The other cards out in this hand were a Two and a Jack.
Thanks to both Mark Melaney for dealing the final table and Drunkie for his assistance in reporting.

Sunday 5th January Winner – Sam Head

Poker Society Final Table Report (05/02/12)
The first final table heads up all in this week was Josh Carr versus Ryan Howells. Josh Carr came into the hand with Jack, Ace, while Ryan had pocket Jacks. The board came out Eight, Nine, Five and two Tens. With neither players hitting Ryan’s pocket Jacks won the hand.
The next all in was a three way between Josh Armitage, James Greener and Scott Tunnicliffe. Josh was holding Ace, Five, James had Ace, Queen and Scott had Queen, Jack. The only card any of the players in the hand hit was a queen meaning James Greener won the hand with a pair of Queens and an Ace high kicker. Scott wasn’t fully covered by James and remained in the game. Josh unfortunately had his stacks value covered by James and was knocked out and so finished in eighth place. The other cards on the board were Seven, Three, Four and a King.
Finishing seventh this week was Adam Newman when he called all in against Sam Head. Adam held pocket Sixes and Sam had pocket Sevens. The Board had a Ten, a Four, Nine, Eight and a Jack, meaning Sam landed a straight from the Seven to the Jack winning him the hand.
The subsequent all in was between Scott Tunnicliffe and James Greener. James came in with pocket Ten and Scott had Queen, Three. Scott almost landed a straight on a board of Seven, Five, King, Ace and Four but without a two this didn’t come to pass. Therefore James won the hand with his pocket Tens.
Finishing fifth was Freddy Webster when he went heads up with Rodriquez del Castillo. Freddy had King, Jack against Rodriquez’s pocket Threes. On a board of three Tens, Ace and Two, Rodriguez landed a full house of Threes and Ten’s.
James Greener was next to go when he went heads up against Sam Head. James was holding Queen, Nine and Sam had Jack, King. Sam caught a king on the flop giving him a pair. The other cards out were, Four, Eight and two Sixes giving Sam two pair Kings and Sixes. James finished fourth.
The following all in was between Rodriquez and Sam. Rodriquez played pocket Fours against Sam’s King, Queen. Sam caught a King on the flop giving him a pair higher than Rodriguez’s Four’s meaning Rodriguez finished third. The other cards out were Five, Eight, Jack and a Nine.
The Final all in took place between Ryan Howells and Sam Head. Sam came in with pocket Fours and Ryan had Ace, Jack. On a board of King, Queen, Seven and two Eights neither players hit so Sams Fours secured him the victory in the hand and in the Tournament.

Sunday 29th Jan Winner -Tom Deans

Final table report, Plymouth Poker Society (29/01/12)

This week the first all-in took place between Freddy Webster and Liam. Liam came in with Ace, Jack while Freddy had called with Queen, Eight. Liam managed to catch a jack on the flop but unfortunately for him Freddy managed to hit his Queen, meaning Freddy won the hand with a pair of Queens. The other cards on the board were Two, Nine and Three.
Second to go was Dimitry Grilikis, when he went all-in versus Freddy and Tom Deans. Freddy was holding pocket Nines, Tom had Queen, Jack and Dimitry had Ace, Ten. The cards dealt to make the board were three Sevens, a Jack and a Five. This meant both Freddy and Tom had full House’s except that Toms was higher having Jacks and Sevens whilst Freddy’s was Sevens and Nines. This meant Tom won the hand overall knocking Dimitry out at eighth place and gained a portion of Freddy’s stack, though not enough to knock him out of the game.
The Next all in was Tom against Rob Scammell. Rob played Queen, Ten against Tom’s King, Five. Unluckily for Rob, Tom caught a King making a pair and so Rob finished seventh this week.
Finishing in sixth place this week was Sam Kiernan when he went up against last week’s winner Josh Amartige. Josh came in with pocket Tens and Sam had Queen, Jack suited. The board showed King, Seven, Ten and two Fives, meaning Josh had a full house comprised of Tens and Fives.
Next to go out was Freddy when he went head to head with Tom. Tom had Ace, King and Freddy had King, Two. Tom landed an Ace giving him a pair while Freddy didn’t hit on a board of Six, Four and two Nines. Freddy finished in fifth place.
James Whitbread finished fourth this week when he went all-in against Elliot Neuton. Elliot had Eight, Ten and James had Queen, Two. Initially it seemed James would win landed a queen on the flop while Elliot caught one Eight. But luck was on Elliot’s side it would seem as he caught a third Eight on the river securing him trip Eights and the pot. The other cards out were Three and Six.
The subsequent all-in was between Tom Deans and Josh Amartige. Josh was holding Queen, Ten and Tom had pocket kings. Neither player hit on a board of Five, Eight, Three and two Fours, thus Toms Kings took the pot and Josh finished third this week.
This left Elliot Neuton and Tom Deans to battle it out for first and second place, both having accumulated large quantities of chips and playing extremely carefully. The three all ins that took place and decided the victor are as follows:
First up Tom went all-in with Ace, Five against Elliot’s Jack, Ten. The cards out were Six, Nine, Jack, Seven and Four landing Elliot a pair of Jacks and allowing him to take a portion of Tom’s stack.
Next both Players called in all-in and were each holding Jack, Ten but on a board of Nine, three, Two, Five and an ace, neither player managed to hit causing a split pot.
The final hand between the two consisted of Elliot playing King, Eight against Tom’s Ace, Seven. Elliot caught a King and an Eight giving him two pair but Tom managed to land two Ace’s securing him the winning position with Trip Ace’s. The other card on the board was a Ten
